Over the past four semesters that I have been in the SUNY Brockport education program, I have learned more than I could have imagined. Having observed at many schools has allowed me to see various methods of teaching. I was most apprehensive about classroom management, but I have now learned many techniques to use in my own classroom, such as songs, clapping rhythms, and using the lighting to name a few.
I am excited for my
students to use hands-on learning and inquiry-based learning because I
believe both are the most effective ways of learning. Students
having the opportunity to use their own curiosity to become explorers
creates magic minds. Cooperative learing is also a great
technique. I find that when students are working together in a
positive atmosphere, they collaborate to discover multiple ways of
learning.
I now believe I am fully capable of taking on the challenge of having my own classroom. I am motivated and excited to express my love of learning to my future students. My goals for student teaching are endless. Some of them are:
to be fair and communicate to every child in my classroom
to build a positive classroom community
to be dedicated and committed to my students
to have every student love learning as much as I do
