Science is one of
the most hands-on subjects that a teacher teaches. It is all
around us, in the environment and in nature. Inquiry learning is
how I will be teaching science; every student in my classroom will an
explorer and will learn through their own questions. Our science
community will be open and collaborative where we will investigate,
gather, and record data to find results. Students will use
multiple process skills to learn, such as observation, classification,
communication, measurement, inferencing, prediction, number
relationships, and time relationships. Every person is a
scientist!
Science Lesson
Plans
This page
contains two lesson plans, one of which is a take-home lesson.
The first lesson is on bulbs; the students were instructed to plant
their own bulb and observe its growth over time. A
post-instruction lesson is linked to the bulb lesson page. The
second lesson is a take-home lesson designed to get parents involved in
their kids learning.
