Social studies has been known to be a boring content area, but it will not be in my classroom. I think learning about the various topics in social studies can be done in fun, interactive ways such as storytelling and/or working in cooperative groups. Field trips are also another great way to incorporate social studies into other content areas, making it even more fulfilling and engaging. It makes such a difference when you profess your love for something to the kids you are teaching; I cannot wait to show students what fun it is to be social and to learn all about history!
