New York State Social Studies Standards
This is a link for the New York State social studies standards.  I feel it is crucial for teachers to be aware of the standards throughout their teaching careers.  They must follow-up with them and be up-to-date.  This site gives a hard copy of the standards for reference.

It is a great resource if one is in need of biographies, maps, pictures, and more. 

PBS
This is a website that accompanies a television channel.  It has various information about science and nature, arts and drama, history, life and culture, and PBS parents.  It can be used safely by children or teachers.

School Express
This is a site that teachers can use and become members of.  It has newsletters, worksheets, fun activities, sites for teachers, online math,  e-books, software programs, awards,  stories, and puzzlemakers.
