New York State Mathematics Standards
These are the New York State math standards, which are crucial for teachers to be familiar with when teaching certain lessons.
National Counsil of Teachers of Mathematics
NCTM was founded in 1920.  It is the world's largest mathematics education organization dedicated to improving math education (NCTM.org).
AAA Mathematics
This is an interactive site of arithmetic lessons.  It has many other subjects that can be used to develop interesting hands-on mathematics lessons.
Math Worksheets Creator
This is a math worksheets website where teachers can create their own practice worksheets for kids.  It has multiple mathematics topics, ranging from addition to telling time, to exponents.


Social Studies Links
New York State Social Studies Standards
This is a link for the New York State social studies standards.  I feel it is crucial for teachers to be aware of the standards throughout their teaching careers.  They must follow-up with them and be up-to-date.  This site gives a hard copy of the standards for reference.
The National Geographic
This a link for the National Geographic which is a magazine for kids and for adults.  It explores many different parts of science and includes a variety of pictures and descriptions.  This was previously linked on the Fun Science Links page; it can be used for both science and social studies.
Social Studies Lesson Plans
This is a website in which Dr. Marty Levine has put together lesson plans for social studies teachers.  There are many online activities, current events, and various teaching strategies presented on this webpage.

This is a webpage designed for K-12 social studies teachers.  It has information for pre-service instructors and students also. 
Flat Stanley
This is the notorious Flat Stanley website.  It is developed from a book by Jeff Brown; the book is about a boy who was flattened when a bulletin board fell on him.  He then has to be mailed from place to place and tracked on a map.  This is a great activity for kids to do in their class while learning about mapping and different geographic topics.

The Smithsonian Education
This is a great interactive site with pictures and videos of real-life science topics.  It allows for students to almost do a webquest.  It is enticing to the eye and is a legitimate resource.

This page has teacher resources, such as lessons, standards, web resources, and student materials.  It has multiple learning engagements for teachers to use with their students.

This is a site with over one million literacy lessons.  Activities are provided for parents, teachers, and others to use with young children.
Linguistics Fun
This is a fun page about linguistics.  It has quotes, articles, cliches, acronyms, and many more fun linguistics to share with colleagues or just for a laugh.
